Whaddayoureckon? Convinced?

Is this any more convincing? Do you like the catalogue pose?!
Great fun was had with power tools this last weekend. Check out Shirleys more detailed analysis here. There was actually real work done. No, really…
Walkies
Went for a lovely walk in the countryside just north of Reading the other day, to the top of Streatley Hill. What the map doesn’t show you is quite how glorious the view over the Thames Valley is from the top – its got to be one of the high points in the area. I was walking with Shirley and her mum, who had stopped off for a few days on the way back to South Africa from the States.
The wildlife was behaving nicely, and I got a couple of great shots of butterflys and ladybirds. Oh, and you can see the latest addition to Shirley’s household if you click on the link too; Gemma the kitten. Very cute. Very sharp claws!
Now this is getting silly
We seem to be having a bit of a heatwave at the moment here in the UK. This was the temperature in the 24-7 office the other day. Excuse me while I expire…
Final Transmission
So, we’re all done – although for many on the teams the adventure is just beginning!
After a sligtly trying journey home in our borrowed (and misbehaving) minibus, I’m looking back over an amazing few days of people getting fired up about mission. Thanks so much for praying!
You can keep up with some of the teams on the 24-7 Mission site.
Second Transmission
I’m sat here behind the sound desk (never too old to learn new skills!) on the third day of 24-7 Transmission ’06. We’ve had a good few days!
The first day was fairly low key, with team leaders arriving around lunchtime, and the rest of the Transmission delegates arriving in the evening. 24-7 Teams Director, Ian Nicholson, spent some time speaking about “Why Mission Today”, after which we retired to the wonderful café that the YWAM guys have set up for us in the back room of our venue here at Harpenden…
A Prayer of Thanksgiving
And here’s the second prayer from my time looking back at our time with the Reading Boiler Room. God had been teaching me about being thankful in all circumstances. I’d known what that mean in my head for a long time, but this prayer was written just after the head knowledge migrated down to my heart…
24-7-365
As I mentioned in my previous post, the Reading Boiler Room closing service was for me a valuable time of looking back at some of the prayers I had written during our time on the boil.
This one is from back in June 2001…
Transmission ’06
One for those praying types out there…
…please could you pray for me and the guys at 24-7 as we embark on another Transmission missions festival. Its not as big an undertaking this year as it was last year, but there’s still a lot that needs to go right, and a lot that could go wrong! Please pray for envisioned mission teamers and a great day discussing the future of the movement on Saturday.
I’ll attempt to post some updates while I’m there.
Thx! ;-)#
End of an era
Almost 6 years ago here in Reading, we were running around getting excited about opening a 24hr house of prayer, with dreams of exploring the old monastic values and engaging with our town in new and powerful ways. God answered our prayers miraculously, and brought from them more than we could ever have hoped or imagined. After these six long, hard, happy years, last Friday night we saw the end of this stage of our journey with the closure of the Reading Boiler Room.
Be strong!
Just an update on an earlier entry for those of Papish tendencies 😉

The words read something like ‘Be strong in your faith!’
