I’m sat here behind the sound desk (never too old to learn new skills!) on the third day of 24-7 Transmission ’06. We’ve had a good few days!
The first day was fairly low key, with team leaders arriving around lunchtime, and the rest of the Transmission delegates arriving in the evening. 24-7 Teams Director, Ian Nicholson, spent some time speaking about “Why Mission Today”, after which we retired to the wonderful cafĂ© that the YWAM guys have set up for us in the back room of our venue here at Harpenden…
Saturday was the day for others in the 24-7 movement to join us, and we had great times of worship, prayer and teaching throughout the day. Some of the key themes were the importance of connecting intimacy and involvement, and the centrality of the stumbling block of Christ in our missionary message.
Its now the middle of Sunday afternoon, and I’m tired! We’ve had some great times, and the organisation is no where near as much of a big deal as it was last year logistically, but there’s still been a lot to do, and its exhausting being involved in putting something like this together. In fact, I’m so tired I’m finding it difficult writing this!
Please pray that we have the energy to keep going, keep seeking after God, and keep getting fired up for taking mission out to where he calls us.
I’ve posted some pictures from our time so far here.
Pete you guys did a great job. Thanks for running me to the airport today, I really appreciated it. love Brian
