Piccies of the Mid West

IMG_4933.jpgWell, there’s not enough time right now to give you an update on all the happenings at the 24-7 Prayer International Council and Communities Meetings in the US, but there is time for a quick post with some piccies!

I can’t be bothered with all that Facebook tagging malarky, so heres a link to the pictures I took in the States in my own gallery.  Enjoy…

Prayer TIme!

24-7-globe.gifWell, it looks like we’re a go for our next 24-7 prayer week in Reading, in the first week of February.

I so missed not being able to be in the prayer room as much as I would have liked last time, that this time around I’m going to organise my diary around the prayer week rather than visa versa!

If you’re in the neighbourhood, please do pop in and have an amazing encounter with God.  Details are on our prayer community webpage.

Happy Christmas

christmas08_blog.jpgThis year’s Christmas card was a little easier than last one’s, particularly given there was no need for a picture run-off.

Having gone for wintry flora on a couple of previous occasions, the Norwegian fauna came through this year in the form of a Ptarmigan on a very snowy Bessheim.

Hope you enjoy this year’s card, and have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Let There Be Light

IMG_3516_blog.JPGOne of the things I really love about Christmas, is the chance to catch up on some of those things I’ve been wishing to do for ages…

…tonight’s little luxury is the chance to revisit some pictures from Shirls and my holiday in Norway this October.  My primary objective was to see the Northern Lights, and God was definitely smiling on us as we stayed in Tromsø and on the remote island of Ringøya.  It was a very moving experience seeing the huge patterns gently billowing above us in the sky, like curtains rustling in the wind.

Check out the rest of the pictures in the extended section of this post.

A little bit more business

Welcome-to-Ashtonstables.jpgI’ve been delving into the complexities of trying to improve Google page rankings on a few of the websites I look after today, including my own.  It’s amazing how much things can improve with just a few tweaks and changes.

So hopefully in the next week, Property Facets, Patricia Lovett and my own Ashtonstables Web Solutions websites will be right up there in the heady heights of Google page rankings!

Early Birthday Pressies

birthday_whisky.jpgHAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!  And thanks to all those who posted messages on Facebook  😉

I’ve been fortunate enough to have three rather nice early birthday presents this year.  First off was seeing Bloc Party at HMV Oxford Circus.  I initially thought entrance to the gig was for a lucky few who had queued for hours in the early morning, but found that I could just pitch up!  So at six on Monday evening I was enjoying a half hour set from one of my favourite bands for free!

My brother Phil then popped over during the week to deliver a bike I’m buying off him, plus some very nice lights and locks to complete the set.  Hooray for good presents!

And finally, to finish off the early treats, I popped to a whisky bar in London, recommended by Phil, at the five star Athenaeum Hotel just near Green Park.  After investing in a wonderful glass of Port Ellen 25yr old Islay whisky I felt considerably poorer financially, but all the richer for the experience.  Carla and Charlotte lapped up the ambiance – and and extremley nice cocktail – with me.

36 has been a good vintage.  37 starts with a great meal at home with Shirley this evening!

The power and authority of God

IMG_7368.jpgI recently joined the prayer ministry leadership in Greyfriars, and one of my first tasks was to lead a session on the power and authority of God in healing ministry.  Hopefully I wasn’t too heretical  😉

I personally found it really helpful to dwell on the topic for a couple of weeks – and yet again was challenged about my prayer life.  How much we need to see what the Father is doing!

If you’d like to read some of my thoughts, you can follow this link to a pdf of my powerpoint slides and notes.
