A Prayer From the Prayer Room ...
Found this amazing prayer sitting in the bathroom this morning. Inspiring.
Wave on wave.
Rhthym on rhythm.
I let so many things dictate my needs. So many waves interrupt the calm You long to bring.
Yet, if I quiet myself, if I still my heart to listen to the still small voice,
If I stop my striving and begin my seeking
There I find You.
In You I find waves of peace, love and mercy.
In You I find the rhythms of justice, prayer, mission ...
Wave on wave.
Rhythm on rhythm.
Yes, I think I know who wrote that ... One seriously wonderful person!
Lord, bless them and keep them. Make Your steady, shining, peaceful face shine on them. Be the anchor and safe place in the storm. Bless them as they continue to bless others with their service, hospitality and friendship. Amen

PRAYER WEEK
I'm really excited about the potential for this week. Having had the opportunity to share about the Prayer Week on BBC Radio Berkshire on Sunday morning, I trust that new faces will pass through and be inspired by the Creator.
God has been sharing some great stuff in the 9:00 am prayer times (do feel free to join us if you are able to!). This morning we focussed on Solomon's dedication of the Temple (1 Kings 8). Solomon asked God to hear his prayers, to see their hearts' cries and answer them. Another person shared 2 Chronicles 7 v 14-16 which is God's response: God will respond to us.
This Prayer Week coincides with the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (I'm sure we're allowed to pray about that even when this week passes!) and it's good to know that our prayers are being added to hundreds of others, all across the world.
There are currently 7 other prayer rooms running across 4 countries:
:: Thurrock Churches (UK)
:: Grace Church (USA)
:: New Hope (USA)
:: Riverside Church Exeter (UK)
:: Salvation Army 614 Vancouver (Canada)
:: Stocksfield Baptist Church (UK)
:: The Salvation Army THQ (New Zealand)
Do come and spend some time hanging out with God, discovering what He wants to say to you this week.

Next 24-7 week at the Boiler Room
Hey everyone,
This is your invitation to take part in our next 24-7 Prayer week from Monday 16 January to Sunday 22 January at the Boiler Room, 11-13 Gosbrook Road, Caversham.
As 2006 begins, we'd love it if you could join us in praying in the New Year, praying for our community and for the needs of the world. As I write this email, Russia and Ukraine are still squabbling over natural gas, a case of Bird Flu has been diagnosed in Turkey and Ariel Sharon is in hospital after a stroke. As ever, there are things we need to pray for - do join us if you can.
Maybe you want to set aside some time for yourself or for your group to pray about what the New Year may bring. Do come along if you can.
It helps us immensely if you could book up a slot in advance - it makes it easier for us to plan and easier to run the week. You can do this by:
- dropping into the Boiler Room, where a rota is by the door
- ringing us on 0118 946 1245
- emailing at readingboilerroom@24-7prayer.com
If you lead a youth group, church or housegroup or if you prepare a newsletter for your church or group, we'd love it if you could help us by advertising
If you haven't been in to the Boiler for a while, we'd like to encourage you to come along during the prayer week. The rooms have been revamped and there is some wonderful new art work and prayers around. Looking forward to seeing you.
Yours
The Reading Boiler Room team
