It started with a quick trip down the road to Guildford after our Boiler Room prayer time here in Reading. Phil Evans, Cally Gee, Carla Trundle (top 24-7 types one and all!) and myself were catching up on delegate details for the mission festival 24-7 are organising this year, called ‘Transmission’. Its getting to that exciting and scary stage – exciting in anticipation of a fantastic time of God speaking and transforming peoples lives, and scary as we understand the organisation involved in putting together something bigger than 24-7 has ever pulled off before!

Tuesday I ended up not going very far, but after a day of meetings involving 24-7’s International Base Team, 24-7’s Trustees, and the Reading Boiler Room Management Team, it felt like I had! All good though. Its great being able to communicate with far flung friends for nothing other than the cost of a broadband connection and Skype, a piece of really clever online telephone software.
Wednesday I was down in Chichester for the only day this week. It was both an incredibly joyful and sad time at the same moment. Andy Stez, who’s been with 24-7 for the last few years looking after our resources (and bringing some insane comedy moments to the office), was leaving us to go to a dream job editing a couple of Christian magazines. Stez, we wish you massive blessings all the way!
I managed to finish the week off with a tiring but fun journey up to York. York is the base of wonderful 24-7 friends Steve Mulrooney and Carl Tinnion of YWAM. Steve is looking after Transmission site logistics (of which there are a lot!), and he and I were working through the whole of Transmission to ensure that we’ve missed as few things as possible in our plans. Hopefully we’re getting there. We even managed to sample some local ale and have a quick pray in my favourite cathedral chapel before I had to head back south (I travelled around many of Great Britain’s cathedrals a few years ago praying in their chapels…).
And so back to Reading.
