By the time we’d made it up around Great Knot on our way up, I was exhausted, but the promise of the view from the top drove me on. Although we were walking in March, the weather felt more like May! By the time we reached the top of the crags, we were presented with stunning views back down the Langdale valley, as well as over toward the Scafells and Bow Fell.
\n<\/a>The route over the Crinkle Crags was almost more eventful than we had planned due to a rockfall blocking one of the main routes. As we explored routes around the front of a particular crag I soon realised that I would need to develop wings, and Shirls fancied a spot of mountaineering straight up onto the crest of the crag, before I suggested we probably shouldn’t without equipment! Thankfully we found a safer route without trying anything too risky.
\nBy the time we arrived back at camp at the end of the day, I was refusing to even consider a walk the next day.
