I’m finding myself really thankful at the moment. There’s loads of fairly major things going on in my life, but I have a fantastic sense of peace. God is with me in all things. Thanks to those of you who pray for me 🙂
Saturday was our Reading Boiler Room team day away. We travelled to Douai Abbey, close to Reading, for a time of prayer, eating together, and fun. Oh, and some work too!
It’s such a privilege to be a part of a team of people who love and support each other so much. As we set aside a significant part of the morning to pray, there was an overwhelming sense of God saying, “Be with me”. Not “do this or that”, just “be with me”. I’ve no doubt that doing so will result in us looking outwards from the Boiler Room, and being called to take His love to people around us, but for now, we just need to be with Him.
And of course, I loved just being able to wander around an Abbey!
After a great evening catching up with friends, Sunday was a little more sedate, and culminated with a fantastic service at Greyfriars. It was a baptism and confirmation service, which I always love. What has added to these events over the last year or so is that Greyfriars, a church that holds over 500 people, is no longer really big enough to hold those who come. I think tonight was the best yet, with wonderful testimonies shared by those being baptised, and a fantastic spirit of worship in the place.
So, as I said at the start, I’m really thankful at the moment. Long may it continue!
