The Coolest Coffee House on Earth
OK, here I am in possibly the coolest coffee house on earth. Idaho's Gods Green Earth, Jeff Buckley's Grace, and The Pixies Bossanova are on shuffle on the stereo. This is just after I entered the place saying to Pete Greig that Idaho are my all time favourite band...
Haight Ashbury is undeniably cool. I've just met up with Pete and Dave Blackwell at San Francisco airport, and we've stopped off at a coffee house before meeting one of Pete's local contacts for lunch.
Or have we died and gone to heaven? Oh, I suppose that would have to be the Pixies album Dolittle on the stereo - This monkey's gone to heaven, this monkey's gone to heaven... ;-)
I had no idea you were so into lovely coffeehouses. Looks like we'll have to take you to a few when you get to Portland.
